Health care in Saxony: Majority is satisfied

In the Free State of Saxony, a current survey shows that the majority of the population is satisfied with medical care overall. These results are particularly relevant because it was published during the current election campaign in which the topic of health care is strongly in focus. Despite widespread discussions about long waiting times and other challenges in healthcare, 79 percent of Saxony are positive about the quality of medical care.

The Forsa survey carried out on behalf of the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) shows that 53 percent of the respondents are satisfied and 19 percent are even very satisfied with health care. It is worth noting that 7 percent of the participants described themselves as completely satisfied. These numbers reflect the trust that many Saxons put in the medical offers of the Free State.

satisfaction varies depending on the region

Interestingly,

satisfaction differs depending on the place of residence. In urban areas such as Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig and Zwickau, satisfaction is greater than in rural regions. This knowledge is not surprising because medical care problems in the country are a constantly present topic. TK boss Alexander Krauss emphasizes that it is crucial to improve the supply in rural areas so that there is no inequality between city and country.

In order to counter the rural medical situation, measures such as scholarships for prospective farmers and offers in telemedicine have already been implemented. Krauss underlines that efforts are still necessary to ensure that rural areas do not have the feeling of being left behind.

health and personal relationships

Another interesting aspect of the survey is the connection between health and personal relationships. 60 percent of the respondents rate their health as good or very good, while 27 percent consider it satisfactory. Only 13 percent described their state of health than less good or bad.

The higher satisfaction among those who live in a partnership is particularly noteworthy: 65 percent indicate to feel good in terms of health compared to only 53 percent below the singles. These statistics show that social relationships can have a positive impact on personal health, which in turn emphasizes the importance of community and support.
