Magdeburg, Deutschland - On October 6, 2024, a 26-year-old Tunisian in Magdeburg was arrested by the federal police after driving to Magdeburg in the Intercity from Leipzig without a valid ticket. The police were alerted by train employees because the man could not present identification documents. It was brought to the office where his identity was found by a fingerprint system.
When checking his data, it turned out that there is a European arrest warrant against the man, issued due to smuggling in Austria, where he threatens up to 10 years in prison. After the announcement of the arrest warrant, he was brought before a magistrate in Magdeburg the following day who confirmed the international arrest warrant. The man was then transferred to a correctional facility and sees further criminal charges for unauthorized entry and performance creeping.
