District heating line at the Nordermarkt in Flensburg: Construction site in sight!

At the Nordermarkt in Flensburg, district heating line has been damaged, as Förde News . Stadtwerke Flensburg immediately started to set up a construction site to fix the defect. The repair is expected to take about four weeks.

The press spokesman for the Stadtwerke, Peer Holdensen, confirmed the damage and explained the measures that are taken during the construction work. The round for pedestrians remains free during the work, but delivery traffic will be restricted. Suppliers have to start the company from the appropriate page. Access for shops, companies and restaurants remains guaranteed, but the operation of the outdoor terrace will only be possible for some companies.

Further information on ongoing projects

In addition to the repair work on the Nordermarkt, Stadtwerke Flensburg are working on other construction projects. As stated on the website of Stadtwerke Flensburg, the Weding substation is connected to the 110 kV network of Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG. This measure follows the comprehensive renewal of the substation, which is now equipped with more powerful transformers.

In addition, the elimination of the 150 kV connection of the Flensburg heating power plant with Denmark had to result in an expansion of the high-voltage network. The increase in transformer output in the Weding substation and in the Trollsee substation under construction is necessary to ensure an efficient power supply. The electricity from the heating power plant will in future only be fed into the German power grid.
