The Foxes Berlin achieved the final four of the handball champions League in an exciting second leg against Aalborg HB. With an impressive 40: 36 victory, the Berliners secured participation in this prestigious tournament, which will take place on June 14th and 15th in Cologne. This is the second participation of the foxes in a final four after 2012.

In the first leg, the foxes had already won 37:29. Mathias Gidsel delivered the best throwing performance in the second leg with 9 goals and left Andersson with 7 goals. Gidsel proudly commented on the previous team path of the past three years and referred to the constant development of the team. At the beginning of the second leg, the foxes led 9: 6 after just ten minutes, but had to accept controversial referee decisions that made Aalborg possible to come.

After a close first round, in which the foxes led at half -time at 21:20, they used their chances better in the second section and were able to expand the lead. After 38 minutes they were 26:24 in front and showed a strong performance in the final minutes. After 45 minutes the lead was already 30:25, and ten minutes before the end the foxes were in the lead with 35:29. The final score of 40:36 ensured the progress of the Berliners to the final.

The coach of the Foxes, Jaron Siewert, can therefore look at a successful second half of the season. The next challenge awaits SC Magdeburg, who competes against KC Veszprem on Thursday after the first leg ended 26:26. "We didn't go to Aalborg to fall back, but to win," Tim Freihofer announced in advance.

For the Foxes Berlin, this success is not only a sporty triumph, but also a sign of the path taken, which you can bring back into the upper ranks of European handball.
