New building project Green Heyde: Norderstedt is planning future living space!
In the city of Norderstedt, one of the largest construction projects in the surrounding area in Hamburg is up for discussion. The Urban Development Committee is currently dealing with the construction of the "Green Heyde" district. This new development area comprises a total area of 47 hectares and is intended to provide a total of 1,200 residential units. The committee's press spokesman emphasizes that Norderstedt urgently needs further living space.
A central goal in developing the new quarter is to minimize car traffic. To achieve this, it is planned that vehicles will be parked in large garages at the entrances to the district. In addition, a large park with neighborhood gardens within the new residential area is created. Construction work for the project should begin in two years at the earliest, which offers a long -term perspective for the development of the area, as NDR reported.
framework plan for residential areas
Already in 2015 there was an information event that enabled an exchange between citizens and planners. Topics such as traffic, freedom design, building structure and energy supply were discussed in detail. The results of the citizen participation flowed into the planning. In addition, a DGNB certification is sought to promote sustainable building and to take into account the ecological, economic and socially cultural aspects, as described by the official website of the city of Norderstedt.
