Dith Dithmarschen secures millions for linguistic integration!

Büsum, Deutschland - The Dithmarschen district council has decided to support the “propedouticism” of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences in Heide. This initiative includes language courses for higher language levels that specifically address foreign and academic specialists. The financing is provided by the EU's asylum, migration and integration funds, whereby a total of 1.6 million euros will be needed by 2028. The fund is expected to cover a significant part of this sum. In addition, the University of Applied Sciences is obliged to make a share of 10 %, in which the district will also participate, such as ndr.de reported.

The promotion of the Propaeutikum is part of a more extensive approach to integrating refugees and immigrants in Germany. Applicants must submit a registration form for the B2 or C1 module and submit several documents that have to be sent to the university by June 15, 2025. The feedback on the closer selection round and the invitation to a necessary German test is scheduled for the end of June and early August. The details of the necessary documents are listed on the Website of the university, such as fh-westkueste.de
