Previous death: Why do bowling seals die on the Vorpommern coast?

On the Vorpommer coast, gray seals were found dead again, and now more animals have been examined. In Büsum, Schleswig-Holstein, experts from the Institute for Terrestrial and Aquatic Wildlife Research dissolved eight additional copies. Judith Denkinger, curator of marine mammals at the German Sea Museum, said that the animals were in good health and well -fed. However, before specific statements about the cause of death can be made, the researchers are still waiting for histological results from tissue samples.

Almost 30 dead gray seals have been discovered on Rügen's coast and in the Greifswald Bodden. The exact cause of dying remains unclear, but infectious diseases have so far been excluded. The first indications indicate a possible drowning, possibly in Reusen. As a result of this alarming finds, the Sea Museum and the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve have filed a complaint against unknown.
