Tesla plans 4 million robotaxis: Musk remains optimistic!
Silicon Valley, USA - Elon Musk has big plans for the future of Tesla! The CEO announced that the company would like to produce at least two million “cybercab” robot taxis annually with the aim of up to four million. This should be done in 2026. Despite repeated promises since 2016 that Tesla's vehicles can soon drive autonomously, the current "Autopilot" software remains a driving assistance system in which the driver continues to bear the main responsibility. According to Musk’s announcements, the Tesla shares experienced a price increase of around twelve percent in post-market trade.
While Waymo already carries out over 100,000 self -driving trips a week in the USA, Musk relies on a cheaper solution with camera technology. Musk hopes for a nationwide approval for autonomously driving cars, supported by potential political alliances. Tesla also plans to launch a cheaper model in 2025, which could significantly boost sales growth. In the past quarter, deliveries rose by six percent, with the "cybertruck" now ranked among the best -selling electric vehicles in the USA.
