Erasmus+ program in Helsinki: Strengthening global networks of the academic community
academic community strengthens global networks through intercultural exchange
Cooperation between different universities worldwide is becoming increasingly important. Particular attention is paid to the international exchange of students and teachers in order to strengthen global networks in the academic community. A recently carried out Erasmus+ blended intensive program in Helsinki shows how diverse approaches to the Community Development promote cooperation across national borders.
The seminar, organized by the Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Diak) in Helsinki in cooperation with the Technical University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS), attracted students and teachers from different countries. These participants jointly researched the approach of the "Asset Based Community Development" (ABCD), which aims to emphasize the strengths of a community and use existing resources. The diversity of the institutions involved and the cultural background of the participants enabled a wealth of exchange of experiences.
The program included lectures and workshops, which were led by experienced specialists in the ABCD area. Students were able to deepen their theoretical knowledge and apply them in practice -oriented workshops. The focus was not only on professional growth, but also due to intercultural understanding and networking. The positive feedback from the participants underline the importance of such international educational projects.
The intercultural exchange and the promotion of understanding for various backgrounds and traditions play a crucial role in strengthening global networks in the academic community. Future work together and projects of this kind will help deepen the cooperation between international universities and to promote the personal and professional development of the students.
It can be clearly seen that international exchange not only drives academic development ahead, but also promotes intercultural understanding and cooperation at a global level. By creating such networks, the foundations for future cooperation and innovative projects are laid, which ultimately help to positively shape the world of science and education.
