Bad Segeberg experienced a special day on August 3, on which the pedestrian zone is transformed into a lively western city. This annual event under the motto "A city plays Karl May" attracts numerous visitors and is an important appointment in the event calendar of the municipality. Local business owners as well as the city of Bad Segeberg and Kalkberg GmbH are working together to offer a diverse program that inspires young and old.

The Karl May games that took their early in 1952 are an integral part of the Bad Segeberg identity. In the early years, many residents actively supported the productions as extras. They created props, sewing costumes and brought their horses - a tradition that is still alive today. These events promote the community spirit and combine people in the city with their history and culture.
a varied program for everyone
This year the stage program is organized by the tourist information and takes place in front of VR-Bank on the corner of Kirchstrasse/Kurhausstraße. Country music fans can look forward to the band Jenny & Friends from 10.30 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. and from 12.45 p.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, the LineDance group White Mountain of MTV Segeberg will present their skills from 12.15 p.m. to 12.45 p.m.

A Highlight of the event is undoubtedly the autograph session with the ensemble of the Karl May games. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the actors come straight from the limestone games to the city to give the fans their autographs. Among them are familiar faces such as Alexander Klaws as Winnetou, Jan Hartmann as Old Firehand and Sila Sahin as Ribanna. A total of twelve actors are available at five stations on Hamburger Strasse for encountering their fans, which is the attraction of the day for many visitors.
