According to the current monthly report of the Balingen Employment Agency, the number of unemployed has dropped by 20 people to a total of 7,470 - a decline of only 0.3 percent. It is particularly striking that 730 of the unemployed are under 25, with unemployment in this age group to be reduced by over 5 percent. In contrast, the number of older unemployed from the age of 50 has increased slightly by 1 percent to 2,830.

The unemployment rate is 4.0 percent in October, while the district of Sigmaringen has a stable quota of 3.6 percent, with 2,780 unemployed people. In the Zollernalb district there are 4,680 people without a job, which corresponds to a decline of 20 compared to the previous month. At the same time, companies report a decline in demand for new workers: 430 new jobs were offered in October - 50 fewer than in September and a total of 17 percent less than in the previous year.
