in Schwenningen, the anticipation of a special tradition is noticeable. Preparations for the annual straw park exhibition have been started for weeks and the entire community has been involved. At different locations - in scales, garages and other creative retreats - the straw binders built robust substructures made of wood and metal. In the past two weeks, the process of "straw binding" has taken place almost every day, and the result already promises to be impressive.

The central event will open on Saturday afternoon. The Pro-Strohpark-GBR, which is responsible for the organization, will unveil the artistic straw figures. This year there are also many works by children who will add a special charm to the exhibition. Mayor Ewald Hoffmann and the spokesman for the GbR, Werner Scheuble, will officially initiate the ceremony with a barrel tapping. The Musikverein Schwenningen ensures the musical framework, the sounds of which will strengthen the autumn atmosphere.

One of the highlights will be the evaluation of the straw figures by a commission, which from the mayors and administrative employees of Stetten A.K.M. and Messstetten exists. This group will concentrate on the evaluation of the new works of art, the results of which remain secret until the award ceremony on October 4. The artists have the chance to be awarded in different categories - especially the largest straw artwork will find special recognition.

This year's event takes place at the Heuberghalle as usual, where the large tent has already been built and the stage has been set up. An indispensable part of the event is the hospitality, which will be taken over by the Wasser creator on Saturday. The fire brigade will then take over the host role on Sunday and has signed the Sigmaringen district association senior orchestra for the entertainment. The refreshing music will be perfectly rounded off the ambience of the exhibition.
