Memory by stumbling blocks: Speyer commemorates the Nazi victim

On Tuesday, the Stumbling Stone Initiative in Speyer published 16 new memory stones to commemorate the victims of National Socialism. Pupils of the high school at Kaiserdom and the Edith Stein-Gymnasium read the biographies of the people concerned and set the stones in front of the residential buildings of their former residents.

The ceremony took place in the historic council and traus hall, which was filled to the last place with relatives, friends and acquaintances of the victims. Participation and silent memory of the past promoted a moving together of the community. More about this touching campaign can be found in a report on www.rheinpfalz.de .
