Great Hörnerklang and Hubertusmesse: Jäger celebrate in the Speyer Cathedral!
On Saturday, November 2, the hunters meet again in the Speyer Cathedral for the traditional Hubertus mass, which begins at 6 p.m. The service, celebrated by cathedral dean Dr. Christoph Kohl, recognizes St. Hubertus as a patron saint of the hunters and invites you to reflect on responsibility for creation. The fair attracts numerous hunters and interested visitors every year, which underlines the great importance of this event.
The "Big Hörnerklang" takes place in the central nave of the cathedral from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., where ten hunting horn play groups, including the Karlsruhe Parforcehorn players, occur. This musical performance is managed by Wolfgang Vaque and ends with the "hunt over-halal". The entire organization of the event is in the hands of Dr. Dr. H.C. Josef Friedrich Szig.
