Perfect furrows: Pflüger compete with championship in Langenau

In the small town of Langenau, which is located northeast of Ulm, an extraordinary competition took place on Sunday: the German Pflügen championship. In this special sport, which requires skill and precision, 20 participants from five different federal states competed against each other. It's not just about rambling the ground; The challenge requires the perfect furrow - one that is so straight and even that no green plant can be seen anymore.

Ariane Amstutz, the press spokeswoman for the state association performance plow, emphasized the importance of accuracy and the strict rules: "If you see nothing green afterwards, the target is that there is a risk of points." In three hours, the participants will get command of around 1,600 square meters to show their skills.

technical challenges in plowing

A key to success in the competition is the right understanding of the floor. The participants must carefully adjust the plow to meet the different types of soil. Amstutz pointed out that "the floors in northern Germany are lighter and sandy, while the soils in Langenau are much heavier here in Langenau." The participants had to continuously adjust their plows in order to achieve optimal performance. GPS and other technical aids are strictly prohibited.

Preparations for this competition often begin days before. In fact, some of the participants traveled to Langenau a week earlier to familiarize themselves with the ground and refine their techniques. As part of the competition, there was also a woman among the 20 participants, while the youngest competitor was 16 years old.

However, the competitive conditions were not ideal right from the start. The day before, some participants had complained about too many stones in the ground, which made it difficult to carry out. On the competition day, however, the conditions were obviously cheaper, so that the participants went to their work with great determination.

The evaluation is clearly defined: How long the participants take to process their space has a decisive influence on the end result. If you need longer than the given time, you will receive penalty points. These strict requirements ensure that the championship is not only a test of efficiency, but also the skills and knowledge of agricultural techniques.

At the end of the championship, the first and second placed the chance to be nominated for participation in the European and World Championships in performance plows, which means additional motivation for all participants. Plowing is more than just a competition; It is an art form that combines tradition and precision and requires a deep understanding of the earth.
