Gilching defends himself against heavy rain: citizens demand solutions!
in Gilching, residents in Tulpenstraße and Rosenstrasse have to deal with rising groundwater levels in heavy rain, which indicates a long -term problem. Mayor Manfred Walter explained that the flood problem was not easy to handle due to the local conditions and pointed out that measures such as a retention roast against surface water may be necessary. Current plans seem to provide a wall, but the concerns of those affected are great.
In addition to the topics of flood and traffic, the energy transition were also addressed at the recent citizens' meeting. The municipality consumes 61 percent of the electricity in the district and strives to further expand this proportion through wind and solar systems. Applications for the creation of a water protection report and the economy of wind turbines were, however, rejected. Walter also announced that it would no longer run in the next municipal elections 2026 after being on duty for 16 years for Gilching. Another central topic remains the traffic, since many residents suffer from the construction sites and the associated traffic controls, which particularly makes school routes unsafe for children.More details can be found in a detailed report on www.merkur.de .
