Hechendorfer Straße: Construction site chaos and new stop in Herrsching

In Herrsching it starts again: The construction work on Hechendorfer Straße, which has been in full swing since Tuesday, are an important sign of improving the infrastructure before the start of school. The road, which is particularly used by pedestrians, receives a new walkway, and the heavily damaged road will also be renewed soon.

The construction work had already started in July, but unforeseen challenges, especially finding and laying cables, led to delays. Michael Strobl, the managing director of Strobl Straßenbau und Tiefbau GmbH, commented on the complications: "We would have liked to have completed long ago, but the cable work was unexpectedly extensive." According to Strobl, these delays are not unusual and often represent a nuisance for the residents.

The focus is now on completing the right sidewalk before devoting yourself to the left sidewalk. "After that, we will start an appointment for the full closure of the street in order to be able to renovate the road," said Strobl. However, this full closure requires careful planning in order not to affect accessibility to nearby financial school.

The residents have already noticed the first construction work that are part of a comprehensive plan to extensively renovate the sidewalks and streets in this area. During the summer break of the construction company, the preparatory work was carried out to accelerate the progress after the vacation. Nevertheless, the schedule remains vague. "It can be in 14 days, it can also be in three weeks," said Strobl, without wanting to set a definitive time frame.

Another important construction site in Herrsching is the renovation of the bus stop in front of the Christian Morgenstern school on Mühlfelder Strasse, which also started on Tuesday. With a budget of 125,000 euros, this renovation is necessary to meet the requirements of an inclusion school. Mayor Christian Schiller expressed hope that the work has been completed by the beginning of school: "At least that's the plan," says Schiller.

The need for these conversion measures shows the endeavor to reduce barriers and to enable all students to have equal access to education. However, the delays in the construction work represent a challenge for both the residents and the students, as it remains unclear whether everything will be ready in time for the start of school.
