Seniors fit and safe on road traffic: Successful completion of workshop series in Herrsching

More and more people are taking part in public transport, be it by car or bike. It is particularly important in old age to maintain your own mobility and to take part in road traffic safely. The successful “Auto-Mobil in old age”, which was visited by 51 participants, recently took place in the municipality of Herrsching.

one of the organizers, Andreas Losert, emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in road traffic. It is important to recognize your own weaknesses and act accordingly. This knowledge was not easy for some participants, but it is an important step to ensure your own security.

In addition to drivers, cyclists were also part of the series of events. Brigitte Milik pointed out that older people often underestimate speed and thus cause accidents. The correct protective equipment, such as light vests, gloves and helmets, are therefore essential to take part in traffic.

After the workshops, certificates were awarded and suggestions for improvement in road traffic. Mia Schmidt presented Mayor Christian Schiller a list of suggestions, including longer traffic light phases for pedestrians and measures to improve crossing situations. The participants and organizers agreed that the series of events should be repeated in the future in order to strengthen the awareness of safe behavior in road traffic.
