Tutzinger cinema: After a long wait, the reopening work start
With a fresh vigor and a clear goal in mind, the work for the reopening of the Tutzinger cinema begins, which had to temporarily close in December 2023. The people in charge of the Kurtheater Tutzing, led by Lucie Vorlickova, have overcome an important hurdle after months of planning: the district office has given the necessary approval. However, this decision requires some requirements that must now be implemented as quickly as possible so that cinema operation can be resumed soon.
The work is currently concentrating on the film screening room, where, for example, old upholstery seats were removed and the rooms were cleared out. Special attention applies to fire protection, one of the requirements of the district office. To do this, the stairs on the southern escape route must be repaired. The lessor Robert Harthauser has already demolished the old levels and is now advised by a fire protection expert to find a secure solution.
versatile adjustments for accessibility
Another important point is accessibility. As part of the inclusion idea, a mobile wheelchair ramp is installed that facilitates access to the cinema. The existing sanitary facilities are also adapted: a toilet -friendly toilet is planned that should meet the needs of all visitors. Mayor Ludwig Horn has already offered his support and will look for funding to enable the implementation of these measures.
There is gratifying news about the financial security of the association: Around 500 supporters have already agreed to contribute to the financing of the cinema through donations and membership fees. The board plans to collect the annual membership fees for 2024 on August 30, 2024. This financing measure had been put up for a long time in order not to reimburse money if the renovation does not progress as planned.
A 11 -person project team has taken responsibility to coordinate the reopening of the Kurtheater. Lucie Vorlickova emphasizes: "Now there is a lot of work ahead of us!" The tasks include the conclusion of contracts, registration as a cinema operator at various institutions as well as the purchase and establishment of necessary technology and IT equipment.
technical guidelines and new challenges
The cinema leader Nadja Kramer-Martin and her deputy Jakob Harms are faced with the challenge of familiarizing themselves with the new technology and the volunteers, the so-called “cinema angels”, are trained accordingly. For the smooth running of the film screenings, it is crucial that everyone involved is familiar with the cash register system and the technical devices.
A specific date for reopening has not yet been determined. However, the project management has the ambitious plan to reopen at the beginning of October 2024. This time frame depends heavily on the progress of the work in the foyer and in the cinema hall in the course of September. An exact opening date could be announced by mid -September 2024.
The Tutzinger Kino embodies not only a place of entertainment, but also a cultural heritage in the region. The use of the volunteers and the commitment of those responsible make the endeavor to bring back an important part of the community. The ongoing work and adjustments are a step in the right direction to enable the events and the community experience in the Kurtheater again. The coming months will be crucial to revive the traditional cinema hall in its new form.
a new section for the Tutzinger Kino
The reopening of the cinema speaks for the tireless use of the cultural institutions and clubs in Tutzing. At a time when many cinemas have to deal with challenges, a remarkable initiative will be taken here in order to continue to offer a wide range of films and events in the future. The preparations are in full swing, and the community can look forward to the result of the intensive work.
The Tutzinger cinema has a long tradition that goes back to the 19th century. Originally built in 1853, it has experienced numerous changes and renovations over the decades. In the 1970s, the cinema was significantly reduced, but this did not shook the company. Many citizens of the region have nostalgic memories of the films shown there and the special atmosphere of the house. With the reopening, not only a gap in the cultural offer of the community is to be closed, but also a place of encounter and exchange.
In the context of the general development of cinemas in Germany, the new beginning of the Tutzinger cinema is remarkable. In recent years, the cinema landscape has changed drastically through digital offers and streaming platforms. These challenges demand innovative approaches from cinemas to address their audience. It is therefore important that the cinema in Tutzing offers an appealing program range that includes both current films and local events.
The role of the volunteers in the Tutzinger Kino
A central aspect of the project is the commitment of the volunteers who play a key role in the reopening of the cinema. Around 500 supporters are ready to invest their time and resources in the revival of the cinema. This measure of voluntary commitment is a sign of community binding and interest in a lively cultural location.
The formation of new volunteers, also referred to as "cinema angels", shows the association's efforts not only to ensure economic but also social sustainability. The integration of citizens in the company not only increases identification with the cinema, but also creates a platform for cultural exchange and networking.
Current challenges of the cinema industry
The challenges with which cinemas are currently confronted are diverse. In particular, the influence of streaming services has significantly changed visitor behavior. According to a study by the Filmförderstalt , the number of spectators has fluctuated in recent years, whereby many smaller cinemas have difficulty with the large multiplexes and the growing streaming offer. The work of the association is significantly difficult not only through the spatial requirements, but also by the need to offer a varied and appealing program.
In addition, cinemas have to integrate modern equipment and technology in order to meet the audience's requirements. In Tutzing, it is specifically based on the purchase of new image and sound technology to ensure a high-quality cinema experience. In order to meet these requirements, close cooperation with the Filmförderstalt and other institutions is essential.
