Emotional farewell to the DFB legends: A chapter comes to an end!

In an emotional moment, the Munich stadium became the scene of the farewell of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Ilkay Gündogan, who, together with Toni Kroos, who was absent, resigned from the German national team. Over 70,000 spectators honored the world champion trio and Gündogan with thunderous applause during the ceremony, which was led by DFB President Bernd Neuendorf and sports director Rudi Völler. The pictures of their DFB time, which were shown on the large video walls, were particularly impressive, framed by an impressive banner: "Thanks for everything, boys".

Thomas Müller reflected on the DFB team and the impressive careers of the adopted players over the 14 years, but emphasized the departure into a new era with the upcoming talents. Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller stay actively in the Bundesliga, while Gündogan continues to play for Manchester City. Toni Kroos was not present due to appointments from his youth academy in Madrid, but was recognized by national coach Julian Nagelsmann with the words that this would change nothing in his status than one of the largest German players. In addition, five long-standing members of the caregiver were officially adopted during the warming up, including team psychologist Hans-Dieter Hermann.
