Wild boars terrorize glinde: hunters fight for security!

On the outskirts of Glinde (Stormarn district), wild boars have become a danger to residents. The animals regularly penetrate gardens and do considerable damage there. This year, hunters have already killed eleven wild boars, given the growing population and the threat to residents. Michael Medag from the Stormarn district hunter reports that in coordination with the city, the hunters are trying to drive out the wild boars out of the residential area, but the animals now feel “really at home” in the region.

To control the Situation, the hunters have set up three high seats in the surrounding fields since July. These are filled by volunteers once to three times a week at night. Due to the proximity to residential buildings, special caution is required. The shooting must take place in such a way that there is no danger for the residents, and Medag warned of catastrophic consequences of a failed shot. In addition to the eleven animals, three more were killed by car accidents, but Medag doubts a complete displacement of the wild boars, since the habitat continues to offer enough hiding places.
