A tragic accident occurred yesterday on a construction site in Leblfing, district of Straubing-Bogen, in which two construction workers were seriously injured. The two workers at the age of 30 and 38 were on a scaffolding with their colleagues to cover the roof of a building. To help when transporting the roof battens, a car crane was used, which was remotely controlled by one of the workers.

Suddenly the crane got out of control, lowered after a loud bang and clamped the two construction workers. The fire brigade had to move out to recover the seriously injured men from the scaffolding. While the older worker was taken to a hospital with a rescue helicopter, the younger worker came with an ambulance in medical care.

The exact circumstances that led to this terrible incident are currently being examined by the police. It is a sad event that once again emphasizes the dangers of construction and the importance of strict safety precautions.
