On Wednesday morning, around 10 a.m., a shocking traffic accident occurred in the city cost of Straubing. A 46-year-old driver wanted to turn from Hirschberger Ring to SRS 12 when a subsequent 67-year-old driver obviously overlooked him. The brutal collision in the crossing area left the 46-year-old in his vehicle. Savior of the volunteer fire brigade had to free him from the wreck with a lifeguard. Tragically, he contracted serious injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, the two occupants in the second vehicle, the 67-year-old and his passenger, were unharmed. The police estimate the total damage to around 8,500 euros.
