Shocking accident at Rothenstein: two injuries and tunnels locked!

On Friday morning, October 4, 2024, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B 88 when a 45-year-old woman from Kahla got on the opposite lane with her Toyota shortly before the Rothenstein tunnel. There she collided head-on with a Skoda who was driven by a 60-year-old Kahlaer.

The two drivers were injured in the collision. The property damage incurred is estimated at around 10,000 euros. The Rothenstein tunnel had to be closed for around two hours during the accident, which led to considerable traffic impairments.
