60 years after the first year of high school: Former celebrations in Tirschenreuth celebrate
reunion of the first graduation year after 60 years at the Stiftland-Gymnasium
A special event occurred at the Stiftland-Gymnasium in Tirschenreuth, when seven guests of honor of the first year of high school came back together after 60 years. Under the warm welcome of senior study director Matthias Weiser, Dr. Wolfgang Tins, Gunter Feneis, Dr. Helmut Rüth, Petra Huber-Katterfeld, Dr. Bertheide Nickl, Liane Wenger and Horst Adler in memories.
The graduates who received their final certificate six decades ago have been impressive careers since then. From a biologist to a teacher to a psychologist - the paths of the seven "alumni" led to a wide variety of professional fields. Despite her departure from professional life, she connected her joint starting point at the Stiftland-Gymnasium.
In addition to the solemn Abitur celebration, the "alumni" took the opportunity to walk through Tirschenreuth together and to refresh old memories at a class reunion. A tour of the cemetery to commemorate the late classmates and teachers as well as a visit to the former school building contributed to the nostalgia of reunion. The meeting found his cozy conclusion in a coffee party in the clubhouse of the Upper Palatinate Forest Association.
The foundation of the Stiftland-Gymnasium in the 1950s was a pioneering decision for Tirschenreuth. Mayor Karl Ruffing campaigned for the educational institution that paved the way for the first graduation year. At the beginning, 112 students were divided into three classes. Despite the initial challenges and departures after the middle maturity, the meeting of the first year after 60 years testifies to the strong connection that the graduates combined with their former school.
