Unemployment figures in the Tirschenreuth district drop, but caution remains!

In October 2023, unemployment in the Tirschenreuth district has dropped - 103 less than in the previous month, now 1,450 people are unemployed. The unemployment rate fell to 3.5 percent. The development among 15 to 25 year olds is particularly gratifying: many quickly found a new job after the end of their training. Despite these positive figures, the Employment Agency warns of an early all -clear, since there is an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the previous year. Thomas Franz, the head of the agency, emphasizes that the weakening economy also meets the labor market and has to be expected in the coming months with an increase in unemployment, especially through seasonal layoffs in the construction industry.

A total of 812 men and 638 women were registered unemployed in October, including 142 young people under the age of 25 and 534 people over 55. However, the number of vacancies remains high: 875 are currently available, with 110 new offers this month. The employment agency also informs that the first occupation processes for the training year 2025 are already running and undecided students can get advice on a hotline.
