The everyday people: art exhibition enchants Marktredwitz
The fascination of everyday art in Marktredwitz
In the city center of Marktredwitz, life -sized sculptures have recently conquered the cityscape, which captivates both locals and visitors. These impressive works of art, which are presented in the open-air exhibition "The everyday people", offer an unusual way to re-experience the urban environment. The exhibition invites people not only to admire the sculptures, but also to interact with them and to share memories.
highlight of the hiking exhibition
"We are proud that we can welcome these unique characters in our city," says Mayor Oliver Weigel enthusiastically about the project. The sculptures created by the renowned Witten sculptor Laura and Christel Lechner can be seen in Marktredwitz until November 4th. With 40 figures placed at almost 20 locations, the exhibition offers a great opportunity to come into contact with art.
A look at the works of art
The colorful sculptures have a weight of 80 to 150 kilograms and are weatherproof so that they can defy all weather conditions. The artists use traditional techniques by applying the concrete layer by layer with the trowel and spatula to bring every figure to life with an individual character. These everyday representations of people, displayed on benches or in sociable groups, promote a connection between art and public space that appeals to many passers -by.
interactive experiences for the community
The exhibition also offers an extensive accompanying program that was specially designed for children. After registration in the tourist information, a children's rally invites you to discover the sculptures and solve exciting puzzles. This not only promotes interest in art, but also creates a space for interactive experiences that bring families and friends together.
The artistic link between space and man
The selection of the locations for the sculptures is carefully taken by the artists. Each installation piece is strategically placed in order to offer a new perspective on the city and motivate visitors to perceive known places from a different perspective. The sculptures are distributed in the urban area, including at the historic town hall, in the city park and in the pedestrian zone.
The cultural contribution to urban development
"The everyday people" are not only an art project, but also an important factor for the revival of the city center of Marktredwitz. By integrating art into urban areas, the artists create a place of encounter and exchange. The exhibition is supported by the special fund "Inner cities" of the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport, which underlines the importance of cultural support in urban development.
