Serious accident on the B299: 19-year-old overlooks right of way!

On Tuesday evening, a violent traffic accident occurred on the B299 at Pressath. A 19-year-old driver from the district of Neustadt/WN overlooked a vehicle authorized to go to the crossing area, which was controlled by a 42-year-old woman from the Tirschenreuth district. The collision happened around 9 p.m. when the 19-year-old turned her Mazda on the B299 towards Grafenwöhr and did not perceive the VW driver, who drove from Grafenwöhr towards Kemnath.

The 42-year-old suffered minor injuries in the accident and had to be taken to a nearby hospital by an ambulance. Fortunately, the 19-year-old was not injured. The damage to both vehicles is estimated at around 10,000 euros, which resulted in the result that both vehicles had to be towed. The B299 was closed for about an hour and a half, while the Pressath fire brigade took over traffic steering with 15 emergency services and illuminated the scene of the accident.
