As the German Weather Service (DWD) reports, citizens have to adapt to heavy rainfalls, which can sometimes be vocal. This affects not only the Upper Palatinate, but also large parts of Bavaria, with extremely windy conditions to be expected, especially south of the Danube.

The DWD has given a clear warning that applies from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. All residents of the Upper Palatinate are advised to adjust to heavy thunderstorms with heavy rain. The experts predict rainfall that can be up to 70 liters per square meter locally. This is not a small amount, since such rain quantities can bring serious short -term flood risks.

In addition, windows and doors should be closed in order to protect themselves from the strong winds and the approaching rain. The DWD warning is to be taken seriously, because the weather can change quickly and bring unexpected dangers.

The intensity of the thunderstorms is expected to let up during the night. Nevertheless, it remains important to be prepared for possible weather changes. From Monday, the weather situation will be influenced by the foothills of a deep moving over England. This means that the cooler Atlantic air flows to Bavaria, which will change the weather in the coming days.
