Tearing farewell: Irmgard Bensusan ends her career in Paris

The para sprinter Irmgard Bensusan said goodbye to her sporting career in Paris and opened her emotions openly. In the competitions that took place in the heart of France, she got the bronze medal in the 200-meter run. But the farewell not only marked the end of her career, but also a moving moment in her life. A few moments after she had contested her last 100-meter run, where she took eighth place, the feelings could not be held back. The doctors found an incurable nerve damage in their right lower leg, which caused them to rely on an orthosis in their sports career. Despite these challenges, she never gave up and realized her dream by shining on the international stage.

Floors, who lovingly calls Bensusan "Aunt Irmi", expressed his grief about the loss of such an important team member. "Today she had her last dance," he remarked, adding that her presentation and his silver medal were duly celebrated. The two athletes trained together in Leverkusen and developed a close friendship that will remain for a long time, even if Bensusan now begins a new phase of life in their homeland. "No matter where it moves, it will be a good holiday destination," says Floors sensitively, which illustrates the strong bond that they share.

The farewell to Irmgard Bensusan is not only the end of a career, but also the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
