A tractor driver from the eastern district of Tirschenreuth was lucky on Monday. In an accident, he was thrown through the windscreen of his vehicle when he scored a bottle in the footwell. But thanks to quick help, worse things could be prevented.
The 52-year-old man was traveling on the local connection path between Grossensees and Höfe with his tractor trailer team when the accident happened. The sudden distraction through the fallen bottle caused it to get off the road to the right and crashed into a ditch against an earth wall. Due to the force of the impact, the driver was thrown through the windscreen and suffered cuts.
Fortunately, the fire brigade was quickly on hand and was able to quickly free the injured tractor driver from its predicament. Medical offenders provided him on site and then took him to the hospital, where he was further looked after.This accident once again illustrates the dangers in road traffic, even on supposedly safe agricultural vehicles. Distraction at the wheel can have serious consequences and it is important to always remain attentive to avoid accidents.
