Water crew in Kulmain: Current situation until September 2nd

In the small community of Kulmain and the neighboring brick hut, the situation remains tense because the citizens are still asked to cook their drinking water. This applies at least until Monday, September 2, and has already caused inconvenience. The reason for the precautionary measure is coliform bacteria that were recently discovered in the culinary tank in Kulmain and its drainage lines. The problem was found in routine water investigations, which caused Mayor Günter Kopp to act in accordance with the regulations.

The citizens in Kulmain and Ziegelhütte have been on alert since the beginning of August. The initial tests showed considerable contamination and there were several feedback on the continuing bacteria. Even planned events such as a citizens' festival and the open house had to be canceled in order to minimize the risk of a health risk. In view of the important role that plays clean drinking water for the safety of the residents, this happened

Cause and measures to remedy

At a municipal council meeting in mid -August, municipal council Tobias Schroll found that the burden of the environmental germs in the elevated tank was classified as low. A small, leaky fugue was the culprit through which water could penetrate uncontrollably. Despite this knowledge, the bacteria remained a problem after further tests. The mayor informed the population that they should continue to use boiling water for consumption to exclude health risks.

In the hope of a quick solution, the municipality hired the Enwat company from Stettfeld, which should install a UV system. This innovative technology promises a safe disinfection of viruses and bacteria in the water. The mayor was optimistic about the upcoming installation, which was to be completed on Tuesday, August 27th. However, a delay in the delivery of the system turned out to be further obstacle. The shipping was only carried out on August 26th and the delivery was only confirmed on August 29, which significantly impaired the schedule.

Current situation and outlook

The Enwat company is now actively involved in installing the disinfection system, which will be installed in the elevator on August 29. After completion, a water sample is planned on Friday, August 30th. The results of this test series are expected on Monday, September 2, and are crucial for the abolition of the molar. The municipal administration appeals to the citizens to show understanding of the continued situation, since compliance with official requirements is necessary to ensure the quality of the drinking water.

Clear communication that water may only be used for different life purposes in a cooked state is an important step in coping with crisis. Mayor Kopp points out that this affects drinking, cooking and preparing food and drinks. Companies that produce food or come into contact with food are also required to adhere to the corresponding hygiene standards. Boiled water is a must to ensure that no impurities can endanger health.

With a view to everyday life in Kulmain and the brick hut, there is a great hope that those responsible will soon be able to announce positive news about the results of the water examination in order to lift the meal bid. The challenges are considerable, but the health of the residents is in the top priority.
