Steigt Seeon-Seebruck wieder in die Mückenbekämpfung ein?

In den letzten Jahren hat die Gemeinde Seeon-Seebruck sich entschieden, nicht länger an der Bekämpfung von Stechmücken teilzunehmen. Doch das Thema hat kürzlich erneut an Bedeutung gewonnen. Was war der Anlass dafür?

The mosquito plague currently is causing many people, which has led to Sepp Daxenberger (CSU) suggested at the last council meeting to review the cooperation with the Wast water and environmental association (AUV) Chiemsee.

Es scheint, dass die aggressiven Mücken in diesem Jahr die Meinungen im Gemeinderat verändert haben. While an application was made five years ago that the municipality no longer participates in the fight against mosquito, it is now being discussed whether a return could be useful. A final decision has not yet been made, but it was agreed that all relevant information and costs are compiled by the administration team and presented to the local council in an upcoming meeting.

The voting process five years ago showed that the majority of the municipal councils voted against the spraying of bacteria that kill the mosquito larvae. Als Begründung wurde angeführt, dass die Mücken auch Teil der Ökosysteme sind und als Nahrung für Vögel, Fische und Fledermäuse dienen. Daxenberger wies bereits damals darauf hin, dass Mückenstiche insbesondere für Kinder gefährlich sein können. Er betonte auch die touristische Bedeutung einer solidarischen Haltung gegenüber anderen Gemeinden rund um den Chiemsee.

In an interview with the Chiemgau Zeitung, Daxenberger said that he had taken up the topic again in order to experience the current attitude of the local council. Es wurde auch darauf hingewiesen, dass Gäste aufgrund der Mückenplage in der Region entweder ausbleiben oder ihren Urlaub stornieren.

The discussion about the mosquito fighting reflects the challenges with which municipalities are faced with when it comes to environmental protection, health and tourism. It remains to be seen whether Seeon-Seebruck will ultimately get back into the mosquito fighting in order to reduce the strain from the stinging insects. - nag
