New strength for the Chiemgau Baskets: Justin Sedlak is strengthening the team

The Chiemgau Baskets have won a decisive reinforcement for their team: Justin Sedlak, an experienced basketball player, changes from the Kufstein Towers, who play in the second Austrian Bundesliga, to the Traunsteiner. With its size of 2.06 meters, Sedlak not only brings the necessary physique, but also an impressive career and valuable experiences that should benefit the Baskets.

The 37-year-old Slovak has already played in many European leagues, including Spain and France, and has made a name for itself in the basketball community. His role as a center and power forward is considered particularly important because the Baskets want to make their team even more competitive in their second season in the Regionalliga Süd. After the personnel planning for the coming season has now been completed for the positions under the basket, those responsible for department head Franz Buchenrieder hope for a positive development.

The motivation of Justin Sedlak

Justin Sedlak has clearly outlined why he chose the Chiemgau Baskets. "I chose Traunstein for several reasons: because of head coach Mitchell and his great basketball knowledge as well as Franz Buchenrieder and his vision to increase the interest in basketball in Chiemgau," explains Sedlak. He particularly appreciates the opportunity to be active as a youth coach. This combination of players and trainers corresponds to his wish to develop both in terms of sport and personally. His first impressions of the club and the city are consistently positive: "I feel very comfortable with the people who are connected to the Chiemgau Baskets," he reports. Sedlak emphasizes the good organization and clear structure of the association.

For Sedlak,

sporting successes are not achieved solely through talent and technology, but also through hard work and the right preparation. The Chiemgau Baskets rely on a close integration between the men's and youth teams, which means that many players of the first men's team are also active in training the youth teams. The goal of becoming a leading training association in the region is supported by this integrated approach.

a valuable trainer for the youth

The Sedlak personnel is also regarded as a profit for the club's youth work. In the coming years he will work not only as a player in the field, but also as a coach in the Baskets Academy. His goal is to pass on his experience to the young talent. "I think you can achieve a lot through careful preparation and hard work," continued Sedlak. Together with Adam Jakob and Pablo Schmidt, he will look after the club's U12 groups and thus actively participate in the development of local basketball.

Head of department Franz Buchenrieder is also enthusiastic about the obligation: "Justin is a significant reinforcement for the team as a strong and physically playing center and forward." He hopes for Sedlak's valuable impulses for the young players who can benefit from his game intelligence and experience. This strategic decision shows that the Chiemgau Baskets not only rely on short to medium-term success, but also on sustainable development in basketball.

The first joint steps in the team have already been tested in a preparatory game, although the Baskets against the Kufstein Towers were subject to 62:92. Nevertheless, this defeat is not seen as a setback, but as part of a process to find the right team chemistry and dynamics. Coach Aaron Mitchell has great expectations of Sedlak: "Justin is an experienced player how we urgently needed him. He gives us the size and the physical game that we need for our team. I look forward to working with him!"
