EU strategy day in Brussels: Trier University of Applied Sciences relies on innovation!
Brüssel, Belgien - The Trier University of Applied Sciences was hosting the 18th EU strategy day of the University Rectors' Conference (HRK) in Brussels, which took place on October 16 and 17. Under the motto "Beyond the Horizon-Exploring Future EU Programs for Research, Innovation and University Cooperation", University Manager and EU speakers gathered to prepare for upcoming EU programs. The aim was to discuss the new EU framework program for research and innovation directly with experts from the European Commission and to get an insight into future funding.
Professor Dorit Schumann, President of the Trier University of Applied Sciences and HRK Vice President, moderated a workshop on the subject of social innovation and advocated smaller consortia that give researchers more freedom to define their research questions independently. "The programs of the European Union are crucial for the Trier University of Applied Sciences because they promote international cooperation and focus on application research," she emphasized. Schumann emphasized that the accessibility of the programs must also be guaranteed for medium -sized and smaller universities in order to enable recognized research.
