An unusual incident occurred on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Kenn (Trier-Saarburg district) when a passerby discovered a 150 cm long royal python at a bus stop. The Schweich police reported that the animal was apparently suspended by its owner in a bucket and had partially freed himself from it when it was found. However, an escape could have been life -threatening for the snake.

The Finder acted quickly and was able to secure the snake in a small terrarium before letting it to the police. The fire brigade is now working there to find a new, suitable home for the reptile.
