Filmmaking for teens: Free workshop for the UM-Challenge
Filmmaking for teens: Free workshop for the UM-Challenge
In the Uckermark, young film enthusiasts have the opportunity to live out their creative skills and gain insights into film production. The short film competition "Um-Challenge" organizes several workshops that are aimed at children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18. This initiative should not only promote the creative potential of the participants, but also create a sense of community among the young filmmakers.
Workshop content for interested participants
As part of the one-week workshop "From the idea to film", the participants can get to know various aspects of film production. From the creation of a script, the practical camera work to the cut of the film, all important steps of a film project are covered. Under the guidance of experienced filmmakers and media educators, the topic is presented this year under the title "Umse (H) en", which gives young people the opportunity to make their own perspective on life.
Venues and appointments of the workshops
The workshops take place in several places in the Uckermark to enable broad participation. The first workshop begins from July 22nd to 26th in the multicultural center in Templin. This is followed by another workshop in the youth culture center "Alte Brewery" (Die Braue) in Angermünde, which takes place from July 29 to August 2. A third workshop will be offered in the family in Prenzlau from August 5th to 9th. There is also a participation option in the “Villa 2.0” youth center in Templin in the same period.
Significance of the initiative for the community
This project is not only a platform for young talents, but also has an important social dimension. By participating in the workshops, the young people have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas, to close new friendships and to share their individual stories. In addition, participation in the workshops is free of charge, which is a valuable option, especially for families with less income. Supply with food and drink during the workshops is also provided, so that the participants can concentrate fully on filmmaking.
At the end of the workshops, the short film produced is submitted as part of the competition of the UM-Challenge. This commitment is supported by the “Movies in Motion” project as part of “Culture Makes strong”. Registrations are already possible by email at [Email Protected]
