Rain festival in Lychen: Fun and team spirit at the first SUP rally
The rafting festival in Lychen recently brought an exciting innovation with it: the first SUP board rally. This event not only inspired the participants, but also lifted the idea of shared paddling to a new level. The organizers, especially René Sabow, chairman of the traditional association, emphasized that it was primarily about the fun and joy of water. "We wanted to move people to the water who should have fun," said Sabow.
The concept behind the rally
The decision to offer the SUP boards in a special format was a reaction to the ongoing demand for competitions on the water, especially after the traditional dragon boat races. Marco Hoffmann from the Seemann Lychen company said: "Since I am regularly at the boat fair in Berlin and discovered the new water fun, I had the idea that the SUP boards of this extent could be launched a new kind." This innovative concept has ensured great response.
Teams and community spirit
The event showed the cohesion in the community: teams such as the "fin friends" are made up of educators and members of the parents who even got special team clothing from the children of the local day care center. Her goal was to "experience a nice team day on a raft." Such experiences strengthen the sense of community and show how important team spirit and cooperation are also in sporting activities.
Fun and challenges on the water
The rally not only put the physical skills of the participants to the test, but also their ingenuity. Paddling on the large SUP boards that wear several people at the same time required skill and teamwork. Funny and unforeseen moments emerged how as a Silke Acktun jumped into the water in the zeal of the battle in order to comply with an important rule: "We had fair opponents who were waiting for when turning," praised the young participant Leni the other teams.
Future of the event and outlook
The SUP board rally has the potential to become a regular event in Lychen. Lisa Bootz, who paddled for her team, expressed the desire that the event spreads further and attracts more people: "We live here and want to get involved." It remains to be seen how this new offer will develop and whether it encourages people to also become active in other sporting activities.
Overall, the rally not only promotes sporting activities, but also strengthens the community and encourages people of all ages to become active and gain new experiences on the water.
