Schwedter companies explore hydrogen partnerships in Rotterdam

In a significant network trip to Rotterdam, representatives from Schwedt and the surrounding area have demonstrated their commitment to international exchange and promoting sustainable technologies. This trip illustrates the increasing importance of cross -border cooperation for the regional economy and its transformation into a climate -neutral future.

Strengthen economic connections

As part of corporate visits in areas such as petrochemistry, hydrogen, chemistry and energy technology, the participants had the opportunity to gain important insights into the challenges and best practice of other companies. Raik Maiwald from the business development agency of the city of Schwedt/or emphasizes that despite the differences between the smaller city in Schwedt and the large seaport of Rotterdam, there are many similar challenges. This knowledge reinforces the Schwedters in their efforts for sustainable economic development.

Experience in energy future

The delegation, consisting of experts from the PCK Refinery, the A&W Apparate & Warmebuscherbau GmbH and representatives of the city administration, had the opportunity to get to know the hydrogen initiatives in Europe's largest seaport. Doctor Dorota Kowal, part of the PCK team, reported valuable experiences in exchange with other refineries and their approaches to use green hydrogen and electric fuel.

With innovation spirit to the future

Another goal of this trip was to present innovative ideas and products. The Dutch company Braskem presented its environmentally friendly plastic cup based on sugar cane, while the Berlin start-up Grandperspective presented a system for gas leak monitoring, which was developed in cooperation with PCK. This cooperation indicates the need to integrate modern technologies and to develop new sustainable solutions.

Future-oriented projects and further cooperations

The representatives from Schwedt have also been able to bring specific inquiries about cooperation with companies from Rotterdam. These connections are a positive step towards further joint projects. A follow -up event in Schwedt is planned for February 2025, which underlines the decision to make the partnerships in a future -oriented manner and to continue the exchange of experiences.

The trip was supported by Brandenburg's business development agency and the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce, which shows that public institutions also attach great importance to the regional economy in internationality and sustainability.
