Weimar: Bee museum shines on new splendor thanks to new LED lighting!

The city of Weimar recently invested 174,500 euros in the bee museum to change the interior lighting from halogen to LED technology. This exchange, which was carried out between May and September, not only promises lower electricity costs and less maintenance, but should also better bring out the exhibition of the permanent exhibition. The measure is funded by the state of Thuringia and the federal government with 91,429 euros, which were provided in the context of funding programs for climate investment and local development.

The city administration expects an annual saving of around 20,000 kilowatt hours of electricity. This could save the new lighting system, with a lifespan of several years, an estimated 170 tons of CO2 emissions. This increase in efficiency in the bee museum could be a positive example of other sustainable projects in the region, as reported www.thueringer-allgemeine.de .
