District Administrator Ahke raises the alarm: 100 job cuts in the Unstrut-Hainich district!

Thomas Ahke, the new district administrator of the Unstrut-Hainich district, has presented ambitious savings plans. After 100 days in office, the politician of the Free Voters announced that it would reduce 100 jobs in the administration over the next five years. In view of the financial situation of the district, AHKE warns of "budget acrobatics" and even lets a budget lock considered to control unforeseen expenses. The district currently employs around 850 people. In a serious outlook on the budget 2025, AHKE predicts a "tearful autumn" because the household remains deficient after several savings rounds.

In addition to the job cuts, AHKE plans to increase efficiency in administration, especially in the social field. In any case, 16 positions have already been dismantled, and the department heads are to save another five positions. In order to improve the structure of the administration, AHKE relies on new "process managers" that are supposed to ensure better organization. According to AHKE, a clue about a challenging time are no less. For more information on this topic, we refer to www.tagesschau.de .
