Nuremberg shows solidarity: Successful silence for Hamas-Geiseln!

in Nuremberg gathered on Monday, October 7, 2024, about 650 people for the "Run for their Lives" campaign to demonstrate for the release of Hamas-Geiseln. The peaceful event, which started at 5:30 p.m. on the main market, changed into a silence and ended in a vigil on Ludwigsplatz. There, among other things, the Mayor Marcus König and representative of the Israelite cultural community spoke, while a moving film was shown about an LED projector.

Towards the end of the meeting, a small counter-demonstration with around 15 Pro-Palestinian participants appeared. Two of these demonstrators settled on the ground, flanked by Palestinian flags, and expressed their opinion. You and 13 other participants were referred to a separate meeting area by the police. The police presence, led by the Nuremberg Mitte police inspection and supported by the Bavarian riot police, ensured that there were no criminal incidents.
