TSV Daverden II starts with confidence in the handball national league
In the world of handball, TSV Daverden II remains true to its style even after the promotion to the Landesliga. Under the direction of coach Torsten Lieber, who looks optimistically into the new season, the team remains loyal to his philosophy: despite intensive requirements, training is only used once a week. "That speaks for the quality in the team. We delivered last season when it got to it," Liebrum explains with a smiling facial expression. It turns out that quality and commitment in the team are often more important than quantity of the training units.
The Daverden views of a challenging season that is associated with high expectations of the promoted. Especially last season when they delivered their best performance in both duels against the current master, SG Achim/Baden III, they set a strong sign. "We were the only team that scored against SG," emphasizes the coach. Despite these successes, Liebrum has his doubts about the reasons for the promotion. "However, it is difficult for me to understand that the Achimers left my team in such a dominance," he adds.
team structure and new additions
Team dynamics is of crucial importance for TSV Daverden II. The harmonious interaction between the first and the second team ensures that players can support each other. "The internal exchange works perfectly. After all, I have known Henning Meyer for a long time. For the fact that we sometimes have to help out, we are the reserve," Liebrum clarifies.
The seasonal objective is clear: the relegation is top priority. Lieber is confident that the line -up in the back room with Miguel Feldmann, Leon Penczek, Jan Malte Jodat and Daniel Beinker can give the team the necessary flow. In view of a worrying throw in the back area, Liebrum emphasizes that "we have to work hard every goal and always have to go fuller to be successful."
competitive season preparation
Another outstanding aspect of the team is the goalkeeper position. The combination of Christof Meyer, Thomas Meier and Mika Hoppe presents itself as particularly strong. The 20-year-old Hoppe in particular has great ambitions: "I really feel like the season and want to become number one. In the long run, the first gentlemen is of course my goal." His motivation and the high degree of competition within the team could provide a fresh wind.
Although the Daverdeners are fighting with injuries, especially with the failure of Julian Penczek and Mario Pegesa, both of whom have to take a longer break due to cruciate ligament tears, the team spirit remains unbroken. The focus is now on the start of the season at HG Jever/Schortens on August 31, followed by a home game against SG Buntentor/Neustadt a week later. Despite the challenges, the Daverdeners show promising approaches and a strong cohesion that could bear them in the new Landesliga season.
