Rescue workers in Vogelsberg train for an emergency: Mega exercise started!

On Saturday, October 12th, a large-scale practice scenario with around 1300 rescue workers will be carried out in the Vogelsberg district to be optimally prepared for various disasters such as a mass carambolage, a forest fire and a helicopter crash. The fire brigade, THW, medical rescue workers, air rescue, police and the Bundeswehr participate in this training, which takes place in the Homberg area. District fire inspector Marcel Büttner informs that the teams will put the interaction and the tried and tested emergency concepts to the test.

In order to simulate the realistic conditions of the exercise, over 100 actors are used as "injuries" who have to be cared for by the emergency services and taken to the hospital. Due to the exercise, temporary traffic disruptions in the region can be expected, as the Vogelsberg district warns. The aim is to improve the efficiency of the cooperation and the operational capacity in an emergency, reported www.ffh.de .
