In the Vogelsberg district, the intercultural week will take place this year from September 6th to October 20th under the promising motto "New rooms". This initiative, which celebrates the diversity of cultures and the intercultural commitment in the region, includes a wide range of events that open up new perspectives for residents

The organizers and coordinators Sonja Hartmann and Antonia Schäfer are enthusiastic about the variety of interesting program items that enable the participants to actively contribute and to experience intercultural cooperation. "These events are a wonderful opportunity to get to know the different cultures, their customs and their people," said the coordinators.

The intercultural week opens with a reading by Souad Lamroubal, which under the title "Yallah Germany, we have to talk!" takes place. This event will take place on Friday, September 6th, from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Vogelsbergkreis adult education center, Klaggarten 6. The topic of integration is illuminated and discussed about what successful integration could mean. Admission is free, but is asked to register.

Already next day, September 7th, a sports festival invites all of the sports enthusiasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Schlosspark in Stockhausen. Visitors can experience archery, dance events and other exciting activities under the motto "Sport & Inclusion for all". The physical well -being is also taken care of, and the offer is entirely geared towards inclusion.

On the same weekend, on September 7th and 8th, a painting workshop offers the opportunity to act artistically. Interested parties, regardless of previous knowledge, can paint with acrylic paint on a stretcher frame. On Saturday, September 14th, the AWO district association organizes an intercultural family festival in the Hofgut Rimbach, where numerous activities for young and old are on the program.

Another highlight will take place on September 21st in Schotten when an intercultural fashion show shows the variety of clothing and handwork from different cultures. If you want to learn more about different countries, on September 23, the opportunity to listen to a lecture on Georgia in the Protestant parish hall in Lautertal-Hopfmannsfeld, which also offers insights into culture and current social developments.

In addition, numerous workshops and other events are planned, including an intercultural afternoon of women in the Diakonie Lauterbach and a sewing afternoon in the house on the Kirschberg. A project week in Homberg (Ohm) is planned for children, which deals with the topics of identity and home in a creative way.
