Chemical accident in Bad Krozingen: Four injured by caustic vapors!
In a dramatic dangerous goods accident in Bad Krozingen, four people were injured when a barrel was damaged in the loading of Thionylchloride. The resulting caustic vapors formed a dangerous cloud that hovered over the property and even had a nearby country road temporarily blocked due to wind movements.
The fire brigade was able to quickly control the threatening situation and neutralize the dangerous vapors. A total of 24 people from the affected logistics company were evacuated. Around 140 emergency services were employed from Thursday evening until the early hours of the morning to accommodate the damaged barrel in a safety container.
