Sailing ship capsized in the Weser: Boat guide was under the influence of alcohol!
A sailing ship is capsized on Tuesday evening, October 22nd, in the Weser! The 40-year-old boat guide headed the ship directly onto a stone dam, where it stuck. According to the authorities, the driver and a passenger from Berne were on the water at around 8.40 p.m. when the accident happened, shortly before the Hohentorshafen in the overseas city. The fire brigade and the water protection police hurried to rescue and were able to get the two men safely.
The first investigations showed that the boat leader was under the influence of alcohol, which is why a criminal complaint was created against him. Fortunately, there was no visible damage to the ship, and it is expected that the next morning, with floods, it can go back to the Hohentorshafen on its own. Shipping remained undisturbed during use, so that no major consequential damage can be expected. Details of this incident and other developments are at www.weser-kurier.de
