Weimar. The countdown runs: until Thursday at 6 p.m. all young people between 10 and 21 years in Weimar have the opportunity to give their voice for the most supported projects. The children's office's website presents various interesting project ideas that are presented in the form of videos.

The "Cool Ideas" initiative is picking up speed for the ninth time this year. Organized by the community foundation Weimar and the children's office, the youth forum asks to submit its own project ideas. The participants have a budget of a total of 10,000 euros available that live through the federal program "Democracy!" and the Thuringian state program for democracy, tolerance and cosmopolitanism is made possible.

In the past two weeks, young Weimarers had the opportunity to work out their suggestions in "Rat+Tat-Workshops" of the children's office. The detailed preparation was a joint effort, which contributed to bringing ideas for voting. A total of five exciting project suggestions were submitted from young people aged 13 to 21 years.

Now the voices of the Weimar young people are asked: From now on, the projects are accessible via the children's office website. The participants can select their three favorites in a simple online vote. Registration is not necessary for this, which makes participation easier. The projects with the most votes ultimately receive the urgently needed financial support.

The result of this vote will be announced live at the event "Your topics in politics", which will take place on August 26th at 5 p.m. in the Mon Ami. Here the winning projects can not only be honored, but also presented.

The projects in detail

Under the submitted proposals there are exciting creative ideas. One of them is the "Graffiti on Block" project, in which a group of young artists plans to create a new graffiti picture in Weimar West during the autumn holidays. This requires funds for the workshop manager, meals and materials such as spray cans.

Another remarkable project is "Cill & Rip" that focuses on the production of an animated film. The young people not only want to write a script, but also implement the animation and setting themselves. This initiative should include a premiere of the film and offer a creative platform for the participants.

"Dancing begins in the head - Breakdance from Teens for Teens" is a project that invites break dancers from all over Germany to Weimar. Here it is to build a community of dancers and to organize so -called open dance training dates, in which everyone interested can take part.

Another proposal comes from the group "Kitchen for everyone" (Küfa), which has been committed to social nutrition for years. The team plans to continue to offer vegan meals on a donation base and to organize workshops for committed young people. Due to the high demand, additional funds for cooking utensils and new workshops are required.

Last but not least,

The You4we youth group wants to give young people a way to get involved politically. With a free cinema evening that is supposed to include films, popcorn, pizza and conversations, one would like to beat a bridge between Weimar politics and adolescents.

In "Rat+Tat-Werkstätten" in the children's office, the project applications have been prepared together with young people in the past two weeks. The five submitted proposals come from children and adolescents between the ages of 13 and 21. There, the participants can give three votes and thus support the projects that they like best. The survey works without registration. The projects are funded with the most votes.

The project planned by creative young people is to take place for other young people during the autumn holidays. In order for a new graffiti picture to be created in Weimar West, young people need money for the workshop manager, meals for the participants and of course cans and material.

The dance -loving young people want to invite other young dancers from all over Germany to Weimar to learn from each other and with each other. In Weimar, the break dance scene is very manageable and therefore it is important to young people to network with other dance schools from different cities. Eight open dance training dates are planned, which are also open to other children and adolescents.

For several years, young people have been involved in the “Kitchen for All” project. The group is also in the surrounding area in Weimar and cooks up to 2000 portions at political and social -relevant events. There is vegan food on a donation. The group also organizes workshops for educational work and brings committed young people. In the meantime there are many inquiries and actions of the "red sauce". That is why further plates, pots, a pavilion and funds are used for workshops.

The You4we youth policy group has set itself the task of beating a bridge between Weimar politics and young people. With a free cinema evening for young people, the group wants to imagine and inspire more young people to participate. There is a film, popcorn, pizza and conversations.
