Caravan Orchestra & Choir: A festival of diversity in the old synagogue
food: A concert of diversity in the old synagogue
On Saturday, August 3, the old synagogue in Essen becomes the scene of a special cultural event. The renowned Caravan Orchestra & Choir appears at 8 p.m. With an innovative program, the 40-person ensemble, consisting of music students with different cultural roots, travels to Essen for the first time.
a festival of musical diversity
The Caravan Orchestra & Choir not only opens up musical horizons, but also brings together people of different religious and cultural backgrounds. In this colorful mixture there are Jewish, Christian and Muslim musicians who combine their roots and traditions in music. Together they create fascinating sounds that appeal to and connect people.
cultural exchange and encounter
The music is intensified by the music. The melodies selected for the concert are not only a reflection of the eastern-Jewish, Ottoman and Arab music, but also proof that despite all the differences there is a common musical language. This not only promotes understanding of each other, but also sets a sign of tolerance and respect.
free access for all
The special thing about this concert is the free admission. Interested parties are asked to register in advance, either by email at info@alte-synagoge.essen.de or by phone at 0201/88-45218. This enables better planning and shows the commitment of the organizer to create an inclusive atmosphere in which everyone feels welcome.
A project of international cooperation
The Caravan Orchestra & Choir is a joint project by the Other Music Academy/Yiddish Summer Weimar, the music department of the University of Haifa and the Franz Liszt Weimar University of Music. This cooperation illustrates the importance of cultural exchange projects, the bridges between different communities and promote understanding of each other.
