Volunteering in Weimar: A call for recognition

31. July 2024/Weimar, News

In Weimar, an initiative for honoring the voluntary commitment in the region is starting today. The city administration encourages non -profit associations, associations and organizations to submit proposals for the allocation of the Thuringian volunteer card. This recognition recognizes the work of volunteers who have been committed to five hours a week free of charge over a period of at least five years.

How the volunteer card promotes the commitment

The Thuringian volunteer card is not only an award, but also an incentive for volunteers and a way to reward their valuable work. Card benefits benefit from reduced admission prices in urban facilities such as museums, the swimming pool and the municipal cinema for a period of two years. The cards are presented on December 5th, the International Day of Volunteering.

Who can submit suggestions?

All non -profit organizations and initiatives related to volunteers can submit suggestions. The corresponding application forms are available online on the Weimar website. The deadline for submitting the applications ends on August 31, 2024.

The importance of volunteering for the community

Voluntary vaccinations are a central pillar of social cohesion in Weimar. They make a significant contribution to strengthening the community and help to keep numerous local projects alive. Through this voluntary work, citizens experience not only a feeling of belonging, but also a direct positive effect on their neighborhood.

a step towards recognition and promotion

The commitment to the volunteer card is a significant step to give the many volunteers a face and make their achievements more visible in the city. Weimar thus sets a sign of the appreciation of volunteer work and encourages more people to actively contribute to the common good. The city has the chance to be a role model for other regions by not only distinguishing volunteering, but also emphasizing its importance.

In today's society, in which specialists are often missing, it is particularly important to consider and promote volunteering as a supplementary resource. Everyone can be part of this initiative, be it as a volunteer or as a supporter of suggestions.
